Senior Global Health Security Advisor – LEAP Global

About the role

The Senior Global Health Security (GHS) Advisor will be embedded within Morocco’s Ministry of Health and Social Protection, supporting the Department of Epidemiology and Disease Control. The role focuses on technical assistance to prevent, detect, and respond to emerging infectious disease threats in line with U.S. Executive Order directives.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance on One Health approaches across health, agriculture, and environment ministries.
• Identify programmatic bottlenecks and coordinate solutions for GHS projects.
• Support implementation of the GHS portfolio, leveraging USAID and Department of State programming knowledge.
• Facilitate coordination between U.S. government agencies and Moroccan health authorities.
• Report progress and challenges to on‑site Ministry supervisors and U.S. program managers.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in global health security, infectious disease surveillance, or epidemiology.
• Familiarity with USAID or Department of State health programs and contract/award officer (C/AOR) processes.
• Proven ability to work within multi‑sectoral government environments.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
