Senior SIM & eSIM Engineer (Remote)

About the role

A telecommunications project is urgently hiring a Senior SIM & eSIM Engineer on a remote basis, with an ASAP start date. The role calls for strong hands-on expertise in SIM/eSIM engineering, 5G Standalone (5G SA) technologies and SIM-OTA platform management. The ideal candidate is a senior technical expert able to work independently and deliver technical solutions with minimal supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Design, configure and maintain SIM/eSIM profiles, including 5G SA profiles.
• Perform SIM/eSIM testing, validation and Business Acceptance Testing (BAT).
• Analyse SIM electrical profiles and troubleshoot technical issues.
• Manage SIM-OTA platforms and design, launch and monitor OTA campaigns from scratch.
• Configure remote SIM updates and optimise OTA operations.
• Support SIM-OTA platform migration, including data migration, validation and acceptance testing.
• Prepare technical documentation and testing reports.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of relevant SIM/eSIM engineering experience.
• Proven experience with SIM-OTA management platforms and OTA campaign execution.
• Experience in SIM/eSIM testing, validation and troubleshooting.
• Nice to have: previous SIM-OTA platform migration experience, knowledge of telecom provisioning systems and SIM automation, Agile experience with two-week sprints, and a background in complex SIM/eSIM integration projects.

Required skills

• Strong expertise in 5G SA SIM and eSIM technologies.
• Hands-on experience designing and managing SIM/eSIM profiles.
• Strong knowledge of APDU commands.
• Good understanding of 3GPP TS 31.102 and ETSI TS 102 221.
