Senior Software & AI Engineer (Remote)

About the role

ZTech Engineering Morocco is seeking a Senior Software / AI Engineer to join a U.S.-based engineering team. The role focuses on building and scaling multi‑tenant situational awareness platforms used in live public‑health and emergency response incidents. You will work directly with technical leadership, engineering peers, and client stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Replace the first‑generation permission system with a declarative, database‑enforced model using PostgreSQL RLS, Supabase JWT hooks, and automated pgTAP tests.
• Define and evolve a canonical data model aligned with FHIR, LOINC, and SNOMED, with schema versioning in Git and CI‑driven migrations.
• Migrate hand‑managed EC2 infrastructure to immutable ECS Fargate images behind an ALB, fully defined via Terraform and deployed with GitHub Actions + OIDC.
• Build a testing pyramid covering pgTAP authorization tests, Vitest unit/contract tests, and critical Playwright journeys with automated quality gates.
• Design and ship LLM‑based features such as RAG, structured outputs, MCP integrations, and cost/latency controls, ensuring robust guardrails.
• Establish agentic development standards, including CLAUDE.md / AGENTS.md conventions, custom sub‑agents, and internal system integrations.

Required profile

• 10+ years of production software experience, including at least 3 years in a senior or lead role where you set technical standards.
• Deep expertise with PostgreSQL, including RLS policies, multi‑tenant schema design, and performance tuning.
• Strong TypeScript skills across React/Next.js and Node.js, with a clear understanding of where business logic and authorization belong.
• Extensive AWS knowledge covering ECS/Fargate, IAM, networking, ALB, monitoring, Terraform, and OIDC.
