Technical Trainer – Automotive Technical Academy

About the role

The Technical Trainer will join MG's After‑Sales Technical Academy to design and deliver high‑quality training for dealer networks, service technicians, and internal teams. This hands‑on automotive professional will turn field expertise into effective learning experiences that boost technician performance across MG’s network.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, develop and deliver technical training sessions (classroom, e‑learning, on‑the‑job) covering powertrain, EV/PHEV technology, ADAS, diagnostics, bodywork and electrical systems.
• Conduct new model launch training to ensure dealer technicians are ready before vehicle introductions.
• Create and continuously update training materials such as presentations, workshop guides, diagnostic scenarios and e‑learning modules.
• Evaluate training effectiveness through assessments and feedback, adjusting content as needed.
• Maintain training equipment, workshop tools and demo vehicles.
• Certify technicians according to MG’s competency framework and track progress across the dealer network.
• Produce technical bulletins, troubleshooting guides and best‑practice documents for dealers.
• Monitor and report on certification levels, attendance and performance KPIs.

Required profile

• Degree or vocational qualification in Automotive Technology, Electromechanics or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years hands‑on workshop experience as a technician or diagnostic specialist, preferably on Asian/Chinese‑brand vehicles.
• 2–3 years experience delivering technical training (classroom, workshop or e‑learning).
• Fluent English (mandatory) and proficient Arabic/French for training in Morocco.

Required skills

• Proficiency with vehicle diagnostic tools (OBD, oscilloscope, MG diagnostic software).
• In‑depth knowledge of modern vehicle architectures, electrical/electronic systems, ADAS and connected features.
• Experience with EV/PHEV/BEV technologies.
• Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, technical manuals and engineering documentation.
• Competence in developing training content using PowerPoint, e‑learning platforms or LMS tools.
