Applied Behavioural Sciences Officer

About the role

UNICEF Morocco is seeking an Applied Behavioural Sciences Officer to support a maternal and child health and nutrition project in the Béni Mellal‑Khénifra region. The role will contribute behavioural insights to improve access to quality health and nutrition services during the first 1,000 days of life.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement behavioural research to understand social determinants affecting child health and nutrition.
• Analyse data, develop evidence‑based recommendations and integrate them into programme strategies.
• Collaborate with UNICEF staff, government partners and private‑sector stakeholders to translate insights into actionable interventions.
• Support the development of communication materials and behaviour‑change campaigns.
• Monitor and evaluate the impact of behavioural components and report findings to senior management.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in behavioural science, public health, social sciences or a related field.
• Experience conducting research or interventions in health, nutrition or child‑development contexts.
• Strong analytical abilities and familiarity with quantitative and qualitative methods.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English; French or Arabic is an asset.
• Ability to work in a multicultural, multi‑stakeholder environment.
