APU Quality Engineer (Electronic Activity)

About the role

Valeo develops technologies for cleaner, safer mobility, and its production teams turn those ideas into working products. As an APU Quality Engineer, you will work closely with production teams to strengthen process controls and address customer quality issues. The role suits someone who enjoys getting to the root of a problem and asking "why" more than once.

Key responsibilities

• Support QRQC problem-solving: initiate QRQC records in the QIM database, help APU Managers and the Site Manager analyse assigned issues, and uphold meeting rules such as "stop at first disagree" and "stop at first no".
• Contain and resolve quality issues: take part in containment actions, validate their robustness, help eliminate customer and non-quality issues, and revise control plans after incidents.
• Track quality performance: update APU quality tracking charts, including customer returns and Cost of Non-Quality.
• Verify standards and process conformity: run line audits, identify actions with the APU to address deviations, and check conformity with product specifications and control plans through machine capability checks and yearly product audits.
• Control product and process changes: verify adherence to the 4M matrix, ensure customer awareness and approval where required, and update quality documentation after changes.
• Exercise stop-line authority: stop manufacturing or assembly lines when standards are not respected, safety or quality risks are identified, or an LLC Stability audit result is below 100%.
• Represent the customer internally by communicating quality expectations and escalating quality matters, and manage internal supplier incidents (PD, CA and incident closure).

Required profile

• A degree in Industrial Engineering.
• More than 2 years of quality experience within the automotive industry.
• Curiosity, initiative and a sense of responsibility; open communication and commitment to follow-through.
