Chef de Partie - Moroccan Pastry

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Chef de Partie specialized in Moroccan pastry to join our culinary team at a Marriott hotel in Rabat. The role involves preparing high-quality pastries, maintaining hygiene standards, and supporting the kitchen during busy service periods.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook Moroccan pastries according to established recipes, ensuring consistent quality and presentation.
• Portion, chop, store, and measure ingredients, and maintain a clean and sanitized work environment.
• Monitor food quality, conduct taste tests, and adjust seasoning or cooking times as needed.
• Assist stewards in clean-up, manage waste, and control food and labor costs.
• Step in to run the department in the absence of the Chef or Sous Chef, providing ideas and leadership.
• Ensure proper temperature of appliances and food, and adhere to all safety and sanitation policies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Minimum six years of experience in a similar pastry or culinary role.
• At least one year of supervisory experience.
• Ability to stand, lift, and move objects up to 10 lb and work in a fast-paced environment.
