HiL Test Engineer - Functional Safety & OBD II

About the role

ALTEN Delivery Center Morocco, a subsidiary of the global engineering and technology consulting group ALTEN, is hiring a HiL Test Engineer in Rabat. The engineer executes, analyses and documents hardware-in-the-loop testing focused on Functional Safety (FuSi) and OBD II validation. The role suits someone with a strong hands-on testing mindset, solid analytical skills and confidence working with vehicle functions, HiL environments, measurement data and technical function documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out HiL-based validation and verification for Functional Safety and OBD II functions
• Create, adapt and run test cases and test scenarios
• Analyse test results, deviations and system behaviour
• Perform root-cause and failure analysis based on function documentation, signals and measurement data
• Use MATLAB for data analysis, evaluation and troubleshooting
• Measure, calibrate and analyse data with ETAS INCA
• Use Python for test support, data processing, analysis and automation of recurring tasks
• Document test results, defects and technical findings
• Work with function developers, test engineers and other stakeholders
• Support testing that needs a basic understanding of vehicle and motorcycle operation

Required profile

• Proven skill set in HiL systems, test environments and HiL architectures
• Good experience in HiL testing, including test case creation, execution and result analysis
• Very good MATLAB skills, especially for analysis and troubleshooting
• Confident daily use of ETAS INCA
• Good practical Python skills for scripting, data evaluation and test automation
• Strong analytical skills and ability to carry out failure analysis from technical and functional documentation
• Basic technical understanding of vehicle and motorcycle operation and functions
• Structured, quality-oriented and independent working approach

Nice to have

• Previous experience with BMW-specific development and testing tools
• Experience in the BMW or BMW Motorrad development environment
• Knowledge of Functional Safety / ISO 26262 and/or OBD II
• Automotive or motorcycle ECU testing experience
