Junior System Administrator

About the role

Nindohost is looking for a motivated Junior System Administrator to join its technical team in Tangier. The role supports the System Administration Manager in keeping the hosting infrastructure running smoothly, and the salary depends on the profile.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the System Administration Manager in managing, maintaining and optimising servers, networks and databases
• Take part in monitoring and troubleshooting incidents to keep services running for clients
• Help implement and monitor backup, security and data recovery procedures
• Work with development and support teams to fix issues and improve performance
• Contribute to technical documentation and train internal users on best practices
• Take part in infrastructure upgrades and migrations
• Keep the production environment of shared, dedicated and virtualised web hosting servers running
• Optimise web servers and audit Apache/Litespeed, MySQL/MariaDB, Exim, Bind and DNS regularly
• Handle client requests through the ticket system, chat or phone
• Configure, optimise and deploy new dedicated and virtualised systems

Required profile

• 1 to 2 years of experience in system administration, technical support or a similar role
• At least one year of experience as a system administrator
• Curiosity, rigor and motivation to develop technical skills
• Strong organisation and prioritisation skills, attention to detail and commitment to client satisfaction

Required skills

• Excellent cPanel / WHM management
• VMware, Xen and KVM virtualisation
• Linux command line (SSH)
• Email systems (POP/IMAP/SMTP) and mail servers (Exim, Dovecot, Courier)
• Web DNS concepts and IPv4
• MySQL/MariaDB; basic PHP
