Legal Counsel (Program Delivery)

About the role

Save the Children International is seeking a Legal Counsel to support its global programme delivery. You will join a dynamic legal team providing strategic advice across 54 country offices and multiple global functions, helping to ensure that the organisation’s work for children is legally sound and impactful.

Key responsibilities

• Advise country offices on legal risks related to programming, procurement, awards, finance and contracts across all regions.
• Lead legal support for global teams on policy changes, transformation delivery, HR, partnerships, treasury and fundraising matters.
• Oversee governance compliance for a worldwide non‑profit organization.
• Manage high‑value, complex contractual and legal risk projects, including supply‑chain and technology initiatives.
• Coordinate relationships with internal stakeholders and external law firms, including pro‑bono arrangements.
• Provide mentorship and line‑management to junior legal staff.
• Respond to emergencies or crises with flexible working hours as needed.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with a degree in law and relevant professional accreditation.
• Significant experience advising international NGOs or comparable organisations on commercial, procurement and programme‑related legal matters.
• Demonstrated ability to work across multiple regions and cultures.
• Strong analytical skills and capacity to manage complex, high‑stakes projects.
