About the role
The Pastry Chef will lead the pastry team at The Ritz-Carlton Rabat, creating high‑quality baked goods and desserts for all hotel outlets. The role combines hands‑on pastry production with staff leadership, budget management, and continuous improvement of guest and employee satisfaction.
Key responsibilities
- Lead, train, and supervise the pastry culinary team, ensuring consistent quality and presentation.
- Develop new pastry concepts, menus, and decorative designs that meet brand standards.
- Manage day‑to‑day operations, including scheduling, inventory, purchasing, and waste control.
- Maintain strict food safety, sanitation, and storage standards in compliance with all regulations.
- Oversee portion control, cost management, and adherence to the operating budget.
- Prepare pastries and desserts for regular service and special events, stepping in on the line as needed.
Required profile
- High school diploma/GED with at least 4 years of culinary experience, or a 2‑year degree in Culinary Arts/Hotel Management with 2 years of experience.
- Proven leadership and communication skills, with a focus on integrity and teamwork.
- Ability to perform duties in the absence of team members and to foster a collaborative work environment.
