Sales Development Representative - Solar Energy

About the role

Huzzle connects talent with in-house opportunities at leading companies across the UK, US, Canada, Europe and Australia. It is recruiting full-time, independent contractor Sales Development Representatives for remote solar and renewable energy sales roles with fast-growing clean energy companies. You will identify and qualify potential customers, generate leads and book appointments for senior sales representatives.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct outbound prospecting via cold calling, email outreach and social selling to generate new leads.
• Identify homeowners or businesses interested in solar installations, renewable energy systems or energy-saving solutions.
• Qualify prospects on project eligibility, interest level and timeline, then schedule appointments or consultations for senior solar sales consultants.
• Maintain accurate records of leads, interactions and deal stages in the CRM.
• Follow up with prospects and nurture leads through the early stages of the sales funnel.
• Meet or exceed daily outreach and appointment-setting targets.
• Collaborate with sales teams to refine outreach messaging and campaign strategies.

Required profile

• 1-3+ years of experience in an SDR, appointment setting or lead generation role.
• Experience in solar, renewable energy, energy efficiency or home improvement sales is highly preferred.
• Proven success with cold calling and outbound prospecting.
• Strong communication, persuasion and objection-handling skills.
• Comfortable working with KPIs, outreach targets and performance metrics.
• Reliable internet connection and a professional remote work setup; self-motivated and results-driven.

Required skills

• CRM platforms such as HubSpot, Salesforce or Zoho.
• Cold calling and outbound prospecting.
