Welding Shift Leader – Automotive Production

About the role

We are a leading international automotive group seeking an experienced Welding Shift Leader to oversee safe, continuous production on our manufacturing line. You will be responsible for managing the shift, coordinating the team, and ensuring that quality and safety standards are consistently met.

Key responsibilities

• Start up and autonomously manage the production line each shift.
• Handle line stoppages and faults quickly to minimise downtime.
• Coordinate set‑up, tooling, and production changeovers.
• Ensure Poka Yoke devices and quality standards are respected.
• Manage non‑standard processes while maintaining safety compliance.

Required profile

• Proven hands‑on experience as a Welding Shift Leader in an automotive manufacturing environment.
• Technical qualification in mechanics, electromechanics, electrical engineering or a related field.
• Willingness to work shift patterns.

Required skills

• Spot, nut, screw and laser welding (automated and manual).
• Robotic welding (a plus).
• Experience with MES/downtime management systems.
• Knowledge of Poka Yoke principles.
• Familiarity with SMED methodology.
