Line Cook – Upscale Hotel, Resort or Cruise Ship

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Line Cook to join our culinary team in an upscale hospitality environment such as a hotel, resort, or cruise ship. You will work across all kitchen stations, ensuring high‑quality food preparation while adhering to strict health and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare all basic food items according to menu specifications.
• Demonstrate advanced knife handling and work efficiently in any kitchen section.
• Apply strong food knowledge and understand culinary terminology.
• Read, interpret, and execute company recipes accurately.
• Maintain productivity, efficiency, and task completion.
• Follow public health regulations (US, Canadian, Australian, etc.) and keep the work area inspection‑ready.
• Report for duty on schedule, follow supervisor instructions, and uphold uniform and hygiene standards.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years experience in an upscale hotel, resort, cruise ship, or convention banqueting service.
• At least 2 years as a Line Cook (shipboard experience preferred).
• Culinary school degree.
• Strong management, communication, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities.
• Excellent customer service, team‑building, and conflict‑resolution skills.
• Knowledge of personalized service principles and guest‑satisfaction techniques.
• Planning, coaching, organizing, staffing, controlling, and evaluating capabilities.
• Intermediate computer software proficiency.
