Bar Manager

About the role

The Bar Manager is responsible for daily shift operations of the lounge/bar, supervising staff, maintaining service standards, and managing liquor inventories. The role supports guest and employee satisfaction while adhering to budgetary and legal requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Implement beverage policies and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal liquor laws.
• Control inventory through perpetual counts, bar pars, portion control, and cost analysis.
• Manage budgets, operating statements, and payroll reports to meet financial targets.
• Train and supervise staff on liquor control, service standards, and event communication.
• Assist with menu development, promotions, and provide on‑floor support during peak periods.
• Maintain food handling, sanitation standards, and ensure adherence to all bar/lounge policies.

Required profile

• High school diploma/GED with 4 years of food‑and‑beverage experience, OR a 2‑year degree in Hospitality/Management with 2 years of relevant experience.
• Proven ability to manage bar operations, inventory, and budgeting.
• Strong leadership skills to train, schedule, and motivate a team.
• Excellent customer‑service orientation and problem‑resolution abilities.
