Research Operations Analyst – Mineral Title Consolidation

About the role

We are looking for a Research Operations Analyst to support a multi‑year mineral title consolidation program for one of the largest royalty funds in the United States. The position will start with chain‑of‑title research and can evolve into broader operational functions such as curative resolution, owner communications, and revenue administration.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct structured chain‑of‑title research for owner/fund pairs, tracing ownership histories back to origin.
• Review and interpret legal documents including deeds, probate filings, court orders, affidavits, conveyance instruments, and powers of attorney.
• Cross‑reference ownership data across county records, ownership registers, and transfer histories to verify accuracy and flag discrepancies.
• Identify title gaps, ownership defects, missing documents, inflated decimals, and chain breaks, and classify records using the A/B framework.
• Enter findings into structured databases following defined workflows and validation protocols.
• Assemble evidence packs with supporting documents, source references, and classification rationale, maintaining version control.
• Maintain productivity benchmarks and contribute to quality‑control audits aiming for a 90%+ first‑pass acceptance rate.
• Cross‑train into curative resolution, owner communications, recording operations, operator engagement, and revenue transition workflows.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business, Finance, Political Science, Public Administration, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and research abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to read, interpret, and extract information from legal and property‑related documents.
• Capacity to work efficiently in a high‑volume environment and adapt to evolving workflows.

Required skills

• Proficiency in data entry and database management.
• Familiarity with county clerk and recorder systems and land‑records aggregator platforms.
