Senior/Lead Java Developer

About the role

The project aims to modernize, maintain and develop an eCommerce platform for a large US‑based retailer serving millions of omnichannel customers each week. The team is focused on onboarding new brands, re‑architecting the system, migrating databases and moving microservices to a unified cloud‑native solution.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new features and maintain existing Java/Kotlin Spring Boot microservices.
• Modernize data ingestion pipelines for faster search and indexing.
• Ensure cloud readiness and integrate Azure API Management and Gateway.
• Collaborate with product teams and the client to design optimal solutions.
• Support migration of microservices to a unified cloud‑native architecture without business disruption.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of enterprise backend design experience.
• Readiness to work until 8:00 pm CET.
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher.
• Experience with distributed teams and US customers is a plus.

Required skills

• Kotlin and Java programming languages.
• Spring Boot framework and Gradle build tool.
• Azure cloud services, preferably Azure AI Search.
• Elasticsearch and SQL databases.
• Microservice architecture patterns.
• Containers and orchestration (Kubernetes, PKS, OpenShift).
• PostgreSQL.
