Food and Beverage Director

About the role

The Food and Beverage Director is the strategic business leader of the property's food and beverage and culinary operation, covering restaurants/bars, room service and banquets/catering where applicable. The role oversees departmental strategy, brand service strategy and brand initiatives, and drives revenue growth and financial performance while ensuring employee satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Set and maintain F&B goals, hold the leadership team accountable and review financial reports against budget
• Develop and manage the F&B budget, monitor sales, ensure cash and liquor control policies are followed and protect profit margins
• Lead the team, coach and mentor staff, run regular briefings and meetings, and build an operating strategy aligned with the brand
• Improve customer service through guest feedback, comment cards and satisfaction data, and share corrective action plans with property leadership
• Manage human resources: set performance standards, hire the leadership team, give fair treatment and coach staff
• Estimate food, liquor and beverage consumption, order and purchase equipment and supplies, and make CAPEX recommendations

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED, or a 2-year accredited degree in Food Service Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration or a related field
• 6 years of experience in food and beverage, culinary, event management or a related area, or 4 years with a degree
