Legal Counsel (Program Delivery)

About the role

Save the Children International is seeking a Legal Counsel to support its international programme delivery. You will join a global legal team that provides strategic advice to Save the Children’s 54 country offices and global functions, ensuring legal risk is managed across a wide range of operations.

Key responsibilities

• Advise country offices on legal aspects of procurement, programming, awards, finance and other contractual matters across five regions.
• Provide legal guidance to global teams on policy changes, transformation delivery, HR, partnerships, finance, treasury and fundraising.
• Lead governance compliance for a global non‑profit organization.
• Manage specific contractual and legal‑risk projects, including high‑value supply‑chain contracts.
• Oversee relationships with selected global teams and coordinate pro‑bono law‑firm engagements.
• Mentor and line‑manage junior legal staff, fostering professional development.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with experience in international non‑profit or humanitarian settings.
• Demonstrated ability to handle complex commercial contracts and governance issues.
• Strong analytical skills and capacity to work across multiple regions and functions.
• Willingness to adapt working hours during emergencies or crises.
