Legal Counsel (Program Delivery)

About the role

The Legal Counsel (Program Delivery) will join Save the Children International’s global legal team, providing strategic legal advice and support to the organisation’s worldwide programmes and country offices.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on international programming operations and legal risk across five regions, covering procurement, programming, awards and finance.
• Lead legal advice for global‑scope matters such as policy changes, transformation delivery, HR, partnerships, procurement, finance, treasury and fundraising.
• Provide guidance on governance requirements for a global organisation.
• Manage specific contractual and legal risk projects.
• Oversee relationships with designated SCI Global Teams.
• Coordinate legal‑team initiatives, including pro‑bono law‑firm relationships and internal training.
• Undertake line‑management or mentoring of junior legal staff.
• For candidates with expertise in complex commercial contracting, support Transformation Delivery and Procurement/Supply Chain functions.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with experience in international programme delivery and corporate/contractual matters.
• Proven ability to lead legal advice on global‑scale issues.
• Experience managing contractual and legal risk projects.
• Capability to mentor and guide junior team members.
• Interest or expertise in complex commercial contracting, technology‑focused transformation projects, or high‑value supply‑chain contracts.
